UNK receives grant to increase alcohol enforcement

The University of Nebraska at Kearney has received a $5,800 state grant to increase its alcohol law enforcement during the first weeks of classes. The university's police and parking services will use the money to pay for officer overtime between Aug. 23 and Sept. 23. The university is expected to increase the number of officers working between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the most common time for alcohol incidents on campus.
